Lion Awards Tracker Printable

If your Lion Scout has completed an Adventure, the next step is making sure they actually receive the award for it.

That is what this Lion Award Tracker is for.

This printable is not meant to track every requirement or plan out the whole Lion year, that is what our Lion Adventure Checklist helps with. This is a simple checklist to help parents and den leaders keep track of which Lion Adventure belt loops and rank awards have already been received.

If your pack gives out awards at pack meetings, den celebrations, blue and gold, or end-of-year ceremonies, this tracker can help you avoid the “Did they already get that one?” confusion.

What Awards Do Lion Scouts Receive?

Lion Scouts work on Lion Adventures during their kindergarten year.

When a Lion completes an Adventure, they receive the Adventure belt loop for that Adventure.

Lion Scouts may also earn the Lion badge of rank after completing the required Lion Adventures and the needed elective Adventures.

So for this tracker, the main awards to keep track of are:

  • Lion Adventure belt loops
  • the Lion badge of rank
  • any optional extra awards your pack chooses to track

This printable gives you a simple place to mark off which awards have already been received.

What Are The Lion Cub Scout Belt Loops?

lion cub scout belt loop

A Belt Loop is an award that is given to a Cub Scout once they have completed all of the activities in a Required or Elective Adventure (ex.Lion’s Pride). It is slid onto the belt that is part of the cub scout uniform.

There are 6 Required Adventures and over 15 Elective Adventures to choose from.

On the Award Tracker Printable, you can fill in the date you earned your belt loop and the date you received it, usually during a pack event.

Lion Badge of Rank

The Lion Rank is earned by kindergartners. For Lion Scouts to earn their Rank Badge during the year they will have to complete the following requirements:

  1. Complete the 6 Required Core Adventures.
    1. Bobcat Lion
    2. Fun On The Run
    3. King Of The Jungle
    4. Lion’s Pride
    5. Lion’s Roar
    6. Mountain Lion

Where Does The Lion Rank Badge Go?

The Lion Rank Badge is placed on the left pocket of the Cub Scout uniform. It is placed below the pocket.

How to Use the Lion Award Tracker

Print the tracker and keep it with your den binder, parent folder, or advancement records.

As awards are handed out, check them off on the tracker.

You can use it to help answer simple questions like:

  • Did my Lion already receive this Adventure belt loop?
  • Which belt loops still need to be awarded?
  • Has the Lion badge already been presented?
  • Do I need to follow up with the den leader or advancement chair?

This is meant to be simple. It is not a full planning system. It is just an easy way to keep award handouts organized.
