Free Arrow of Light Awards Tracker Printable
If your Arrow of Light Scout has completed an Adventure, the next step is making sure they actually receive the award for it.
That is what this Arrow of Light Award Tracker is for.
This printable is not meant to track every requirement or plan out the whole Arrow of Light year. It is a simple checklist to help parents and den leaders keep track of which Arrow of Light Adventure pins and rank awards have already been received.
What Are The Arrow of Light Cub Scout Pins?
Arrow of Light Scouts receive Adventure pins when they complete Adventures.
This is different from Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Scouts, who receive Adventure belt loops.
Because Arrow of Light Scouts may complete Adventures at den meetings, pack events, campouts, troop visits, family activities, or crossover preparation events, it can be easy for awards to get missed or delayed.
A simple award tracker helps you see:
- which Adventure pins have been earned
- which pins have already been handed out
- which awards still need to be picked up or presented
- which awards may need to be checked in Scoutbook or with your advancement chair
Where Do Arrow of Light Adventure Pins Go?
Arrow of Light Adventure pins are worn on the Adventure Colors, which are worn on the right sleeve of the tan uniform shirt.
Some families also keep extra awards on a display board, memory board, shadow box, or keepsake card.
If you are unsure where to place an award, check your pack’s current uniform guidance or the official Scouting America insignia resources.

What Is The Arrow of Light Badge?
The Arrow of Light badge of rank is the main rank award for 5th grade Cub Scouts.
Once an Arrow of Light Scout completes the current Arrow of Light rank requirements, they can receive the Arrow of Light badge.
This tracker gives you a place to mark that the Arrow of Light badge has been received, so it does not get lost in the shuffle with Adventure pins, pack meeting awards, and crossover planning.
The Arrow of Light badge is also special because it is the Cub Scout rank badge that can continue onto the Scouts BSA uniform.
What Are The Arrow of Light Badge Requirements?
The Arrow of Light Rank is earned by fifth graders. For Arrow of Light Scouts to earn their Rank Badge during the year they will have to complete the following requirements:
- Complete the 6 Required Core Adventures.
- Complete 2 of the Elective Adventures.
Where Does The Arrow of Light Rank Badge Go?
The Arrow of Light Rank Badge is placed below the left pocket of the cub scout uniform as shown below.
Why Use An Awards Tracker
Even if you already track Adventure completion somewhere else, it can still help to have a separate award tracker.
Adventure completion and award presentation are not always the same thing.
A Scout may finish an Adventure one week, but the Adventure pin may not be handed out until the next pack meeting. If you are tracking several Scouts, multiple den levels, or a busy pack schedule, it is easy to forget what has already been awarded.
This printable is especially helpful for:
- den leaders
- parents
- advancement chairs
- pack committee members
- anyone organizing awards for pack meetings or crossover
How To Use The Arrow of Light Tracker!
Print the tracker and keep it with your den binder, parent folder, or advancement records.
As awards are handed out, check them off on the tracker.
You can use it to help answer simple questions like:
- Did my Arrow of Light Scout already receive this Adventure pin?
- Which pins still need to be awarded?
- Has the Arrow of Light badge already been presented?
- Do I need to follow up with the den leader or advancement chair?
- Is everything ready before crossover?
This is meant to be simple. It is not a full planning system. It is just an easy way to keep award handouts organized.
