If your Bear Scout has completed an Adventure, the next step is making sure they actually receive the award for it.
That is what this Bear Award Tracker is for.
This printable is not meant to track every requirement or plan out the whole Bear year. It is a simple checklist to help parents and den leaders keep track of which Bear Adventure belt loops and rank awards have already been received.
What Awards Do Bear Scouts Receive?
Bear Scouts work on Bear Adventures during their 3rd grade year.
When a Bear completes an Adventure, they receive the Adventure belt loop for that Adventure.
Bear Scouts may also earn the Bear badge of rank after completing the required Bear Adventures and the needed elective Adventures.
So for this tracker, the main awards to keep track of are:
- Bear Adventure belt loops
- the Bear badge of rank
- any optional extra awards your pack chooses to track
This printable gives you a simple place to mark off which awards have already been received.
Bear Adventure Belt Loops
Bear Scouts receive belt loops when they complete Adventures.
Because Bears may complete Adventures at den meetings, pack events, family activities, outdoor activities, campouts, or summer events, it can be easy for awards to get missed or delayed.

What Are The Bear Cub Scout Requirements?
The Bear Rank is earned by second graders. For Bear Scouts to earn their Rank Badge during the year they will have to complete the following requirements:
- Complete the 6 Required Core Adventures.
- Complete 2 of the Elective Adventures.
Bear Badge of Rank
The Bear badge of rank is the main rank award for 3rd grade Cub Scouts.
Once a Bear completes the current Bear rank requirements, they can receive the Bear badge.
This tracker gives you a place to mark that the Bear badge has been received, so it does not get lost in the shuffle with Adventure belt loops and pack meeting awards.
Where Does The Bear Rank Badge Go?
The Bear badge of rank is worn on the left pocket of the blue Cub Scout uniform shirt as part of the Cub Scout rank badge diamond. The Bear badge goes on the right side of the diamond.
Why Use An Awards Tracker?
Even if you already track Adventure completion somewhere else, it can still help to have a separate award tracker.
Adventure completion and award presentation are not always the same thing.
A Scout may finish an Adventure one week, but the belt loop may not be handed out until the next pack meeting. If you are tracking several Scouts, multiple den levels, or a busy pack schedule, it is easy to forget what has already been awarded.

How To Use A Bear Awards Tracker?
Print the tracker and keep it with your den binder, parent folder, or advancement records.
As awards are handed out, check them off on the tracker.
You can use it to help answer simple questions like:
- Did my Bear already receive this Adventure belt loop?
- Which belt loops still need to be awarded?
- Has the Bear badge already been presented?
- Do I need to follow up with the den leader or advancement chair?
This is meant to be simple. It is not a full planning system. It is just an easy way to keep award handouts organized.
