Tiger Scouts Good Knights Adventure: Activities & Printables

In a world where courtesy and respect often feel like they are disappearing, teaching our boys knightly values has never been more important. The Tiger Godd Knights Adventure gives Scouts the tools to practice chivalry, courtesy, and service. These lessons don’t just make better Scouts, they make better young men.

Why Courtesy and Chivalry Still Matter for Boys

In today’s world kids are growing up in a society that doesn’t always value kindness, respect, or responsibility. That’s why the Good Knights adventure is so important. It teaches scouts that being a “good night” doesn’t mean wearing armor or swinging a sword (even though that is a fun part while learning), but it’s about showing respect, standing up for what’s right, and serving others.

Knights of old lived by the code of chivalry, a set of promises about how they would treat others. Today Cub Scouts learn a similar code through the Scout Law: being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

When boys learn these values early, they grow into strong young men who can strengthen their families, communities, and society. Courtesy isn’t old-fashioned it is a foundation of leadership, responsibility, and respect.

Raising Modern-Day Knights At Home

Parents and leaders have a powerful role in shaping boys into men of character. Just like knights needed training, our boys need guidance and practice. Here are a few simple ways families can practice chivalry and civility at home.

Speak With Respect: Encourage your scout to say “please” and “thank you”, look people in the eye, and listen before speaking.

Serve Others First: Teach the habit of holding the door, offering a seat, or helping with chores before being asked.

Defend The Weak: Stand up for kids who are teased or left out. A knight protects those who need it most.

Do Your Good Turn Daily: Small acts of service, like feeding the cat, helping a sibling, or picking up trash.

Honor Your Word: Keep promises, follow through, and show that your word can be trusted.
