Relax & Recharge: A Simple Activity for Kids to Slow Down

After all the movement and healthy eating that’s part of the Running With The Pack Wolf Adventure, it’s time to pause and recharge. Rest isn’t just about sleeping, it’s also about learning to slow down, calm your body, and give your brain a break.

This part of the adventure is all about choosing a quiet activity and being still. Something many kids rarely get to practice!

Requirement 5: Do a relaxing activity for 10 minutes.

Why Relaxation Matters For Kids:

  • Helps reduce stress or “wiggles” from a busy day
  • Builds awareness of feelings and energy levels
  • Supports focus, self-regulation, and healthier habits

Try This – 10 Minutes Of Quiet Time:

Let your child choose a quiet activity to do for 10 minutes. Here are some ideas:

  • Drawing or coloring quietly
  • Sitting outside and listening to nature
  • Listening to soft music or audiobook
  • Gentle yogo (see below)
  • Laying in a cozy space with a cozy blanket

Relax & Recharge Printable Tracker

We’ve created a calming one-page printable that your child can complete during or after their quiet time. You can even set up a fun reward if they mark off all 7 starts. Some ideas for a reward might be a trip to the ice cream shop, a movie night or a fun little toy as a reward.
