Fitness Tracker Challenge: 14 Days of Scout Strength
When you’re working on the Personal Fitness Adventure for Arrow of Light, one of the biggest parts is learning how to build strong, healthy habits. That’s where this 14-day fitness challenge comes in. Over the next 2 weeks, Scouts will focus on staying active for 30 minutes or more each day and reflecting on how that fits into living the Scout Oath.
This doesn’t mean you have to hit the gym or go on a long hike every single day. Playing soccer, riding bikes, swimming, dancing, or even walking the dog count. The goal is just to move your body, enjoy it, and track your progress.
Requirement 2: Examine what it is to be physically fit and how you incorporate this in your life. Track the number of times you are active for 30 minutes or longer over a 14-day period. Share with your patrol or family what you enjoyed and if you feel you are living up to the Scout Oath of being physically strong.
What You’ll Need:
- A 14-day printable tracker (you can grab ours here)
- A pen or pencil
- Comfortable clothes or shoes
- A good attitude and motivation!
How It Works:
Each day, choose any activity that keeps you moving for at least 30 minutes. Afterward, you can jot down in a log what you did and how it made you feel. You’ll use this log to help complete Requirement 2 of the Personal Fitness Adventure.
After the 14 days are up, share your log with your den or family. Talk about which activities you enjoyed the most and whether you feel like you’re living up to the Scout Oath of being “physically strong.”
Ideas For 30-Minute Activities
- Go on a neighborhood hike or walk
- Play basketball, soccer, or any sport you love
- Follow along with a dance, yoga, or workout video on YouTube
- Bike, rollerblade, or skateboard
- Dance to music for a full half hour
- Do yard work or help clean up a park
If it gets your heart pumping and keeps you moving, it counts!
